The EMPAC (Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer) shared with us the full content of the CD-ROM “William Forsythe, Improvisation Technologies”, published in 1999, developed, produced, programmed, and published by ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany in cooperation with the Deutsches Tanzarchiv Köln. This documentation was produced by Johannes Goebel as part of the Digital Time Capsule project from EMPAC.
The content of the CD was designed as a pedagogical tool. At the same time, the implementation as CD-ROM was paradigmatic in how technology at the time could be used to communicate principles of choreography and dance and was widely circulated in dance and dance studies communities.
The content of this video is for me a source of endless inspiration and I hope you enjoy it.
